This policy explains how memoru collects, uses, and stores data when you use the Chrome extension, the web app, and related services.

1. What memoru does

memoru captures live captions from Google Meet and Zoom Web in your browser. When you are signed in, transcript segments sync to memoru servers during the meeting. You view transcripts and generate AI summaries in the web app.

2. Data we collect

• Account data: email address, plan status, and sign-in session tokens.
• Meeting metadata: meeting id, title, platform, start and end times, status.
• Transcript text: caption segments (speaker, text, timestamps) synced when you are signed in.
• Usage metrics: counts of summaries generated (for limits and product metrics).
• Technical logs: request metadata needed to operate and secure the service (for example IP, user agent, error codes). We do not log full transcripts in application error logs.

3. How captions move

1. Captions are captured locally in the browser first.
2. When you are signed in, transcript segments sync to memoru servers every few seconds during the meeting.
3. You view live and past transcripts on the web app.
4. Summary text is generated on memoru servers only when you click Generate summary in the web app.
5. If you are not signed in, captions stay on your device and do not sync to memoru servers.

4. Why we use the data

• To provide cloud transcript sync and the web app.
• To generate AI summaries when you request them.
• To authenticate you and protect accounts.
• To enforce anti-abuse rate limits and (when enabled) plan limits.
• To improve reliability and diagnose outages.

5. Third parties

• LLM provider (for example DeepSeek or Google Gemini): receives transcript text only when you request a summary, to produce the summary JSON.
• Email provider (Mailtrap): sends magic-link sign-in messages.
• Infrastructure: hosting, database, and CDN providers that process data to run the service.
• Payment processor (Merchant of Record such as Lemon Squeezy): processes subscriptions when monetization is enabled. memoru does not store full card numbers.

6. Retention

We keep account, meeting, and transcript data while your account is active so you can reopen past meetings. You may request deletion of your account and associated meeting data by contacting support. Backup copies may remain for a limited period after deletion.

7. Your rights

Depending on your location, you may have rights to access, correct, export, or delete personal data. Contact us at the address below to make a request.

8. Children

memoru is not directed at children under 16. Do not use the service if you are under 16.

9. Changes

We may update this policy. We will change the “Last updated” date above. Material changes may also be announced in the product or by email.
